Development

What is Development? When you have produced a range of ideas you must then pick one or two to develop. When you develop an idea you experiment with it, trying to make it better. Sometimes when you alter the design it will look better, sometimes it will look worse, however, you must include all of your designs, good or bad, in your folder.

What you must do: After picking the most suitable idea you must try to improve it. You must decide how it will fit onto your torch.

How to get a good mark:

-You should have a range of developments for the back and the front of your torch.

-Each idea should be annotated before moving onto the next

-For each idea say what you like about the idea and what needs to be improved.

Good annotation:

"I have made the writing bigger and put it on a slight angle to attract attention to it...

One this design the cartoon carrot is hidden too much by the lettering

I like this design, however, the background colour is too dark"

This is a good example of development, you can see Harriet has experimented with the layout.

Bad annotation:

"I like this one

I don't like this one

My mum likes this one"
